A BRIEF HISTORY

Redline Motorcycle Club was formed in 1998 by a group of people drawn from several other clubs. Most of these people were not comfortable in their existing club environment and felt that their interests would be better served by branching out and forming their own organisation. During mid 1998 several meetings were held at various locations around the Melbourne cbd with a view to this end.

At one stage a merger with an existing, but struggling club was considered, but eventually this was rejected by their committee.

After much friendly argument and discussion, the name "Redline Motorcycle Racing Club Inc." Was decided upon and we were able to enter our next phase, which involved incorporation and afiliation with "M.A.V." (Motorcyling Australia, Victoria).

This was successfully completed in early 1999, followed very shortly thereafter by our acceptance into the Victorian Interclub Series. In our first interclub season we were quite successfull and finished in 3rd place, despite fielding a team comprised solely of historic machines in a field of modern motorcycles!
